Unfortunately so. From time to time, you may now see an occasional ad at the top. This is because FreeForums.org is so huge that sever costs are through the roof, and this is the fastest and easiest way to raise money while keeping FreeForums, well, free.

There's a slight advantage. Money generated by these ads goes back to forum administrators. So yes, I AM GETTING PAID FOR MAINTAINING THIS FORUM. Pretty sweet deal, right?

Okay, so that's not quite the case. Money is returned to administrators in the form of FreeForums credit. That is to say, after a considerable amount of time enduring disgusting ads, PVSpeech may be eligible for free Advanced Hosting!

Until then, I'm afraid you'll just have to put up with it.

I don't mind the idea of having ads. However, is there any way to filter which ones show up? The first one I saw today was Match.com. Ugh.

I also have an issue with this thing where it highlights random words to use as ads (example - someone types "geology," then whenever you roll over it it gives you an ad about geology-related stuff). Those things can really ruin a discussion.

Yeah, I've noticed those, and they're REALLY annoying. I'll try to have that fixed soon.
